We use a Bayesian average formula that combines Google rating (1–5) with the number of reviews. A restaurant with 5.0 from 8 reviews does not automatically beat one with 4.7 from 2,000 — more reviews give a more credible rating. Only restaurants with at least 4.3 in rating and at least 50 reviews qualify. The full formula with examples is on our methodology page.

All ranking data is fetched directly from the Google Places API. Address, rating and number of reviews reflect the latest sync and are updated continuously. We do no manual filtering of individual reviews — the same data shown on Google Maps is used.

We selected the 12 most popular international cuisines on the Swedish restaurant market — Italian, sushi, pizza, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese, Vietnamese, French, Greek and vegetarian. Each cuisine is categorised via Google Places' primary cuisine type to ensure a fair comparison within the same category.

Restaurants are discovered automatically via the Google Places API and qualify for the list if they have at least 4.3 in Google rating and at least 50 reviews. No manual nominations — the list is fully data-driven to keep the assessment objective and fair.
